Cities you can do in a day from the North East

Edinburgh, Durham, Carlisle and Hexham are all comfortably within a day's return run, and each has its historic core within walking distance of where a coach can drop you. That is the practical advantage of these destinations: no shuttle buses, no long walk in from a park-and-ride, and no hunting for a space in a medieval street plan.

Heritage sites as well as cities

Alongside the cities we run to heritage attractions such as Beamish, The Living Museum of the North, and to Holy Island with its priory and castle. If you want the history without a lot of walking, the garden centre and market town pairings are the gentler alternative.

Getting the most out of the day

Pick one paid attraction and leave time to walk the streets — most passengers find that a better day than trying to fit three things in. Your confirmation email shows the drop-off arrangements and the time to be back at the coach, and the driver runs to that time so the whole party gets home together.
