The Northumberland coast

Our regular coastal destinations are Seahouses, a working harbour village with a beach and the traditional fish and chips, and Holy Island, where the causeway crossing is timed around the tide. Both are close enough that you spend the day there rather than on the coach.

What to bring

The North Sea coast is bracing even in July, so a coat and comfortable shoes make more difference than anything else. There is walking involved at Holy Island in particular, between the coach, the village, the priory and the castle.
